Amarillo Gear Service proudly provides our customers with a time-tested, three step renewal process for renewing Amarillo Gear drives to like-new condition. Our basic drive renewal services include an “As Found” Inspection Report that offers photographs and information relating to the disassembly and reassembly of the Amarillo Gear drive.
An Amarillo Gear Service Sales Associate will provide you a basic renewal quote based on the information you provide us about the condition of the drive. As part of this basic renewal quote, we will detail the potential additional costs associated with the repair prior to completion of our in-house inspection.
Once we have received your Amarillo Gear drive, we will prepare it for a detailed inspection. Our technicians will begin by conducting a visual inspection of your drive. They will look for any visible signs of wear and damage. We will also look for indications that any damage or wear that is present could be affecting other systems within the Amarillo Gear drive. At the completion of our inspection stage, we will detail an “As Found” Condition Report. As part of this, we will photograph critical wear and issues that must be replaced. We will also provide a precise and itemized cost for renewing the drive.
Upon approval of the work we recommend be performed, your drive will be renewed in accordance with the information contained within the “As Found” Condition Report. The drive will be primed and finished with a double coat of marine grade epoxy paint. Then the drive will be returned to you with a one year warranty on all parts and labor.
The basic renewal of your Amarillo Gear drive includes an “As Found” Inspection Report, which has photographs and information relating to the disassembly and reassembly of the drive. This information will cover all labor to be performed, pressure washing of the gear housing interior, and cleaning of gears and shafts. We will also replace bearings and seals, shims, along with o-rings. If necessary, we will also repair or replace any external hardware.
Further, the basic drive renewal includes setting gear clearances, performing a no-load spin test, application of mineral oil, and sandblasting. We will then finish the Amarillo Gear drive with a zinc primer and two coats of marine grade epoxy paint.
It may be possible to reuse your gears and shafts. For this reason, our technicians will conduct a visual inspection to determine the viability of this option. If the parts pass our visual inspection, our technicians will offer to perform a magnetic particle inspection for a fee. This inspection is used to detect hairline cracks that may not be visible to the naked eye. Should gears or shafts need to be replaced, this cost will be added to the basic renewal quote for your approval prior to repairs commencing.
